AQAP Releases Biography of Former Gitmo Detainee Salman Al-San'ani
On September 14, 2010, Al-Malahim media company (the media wing of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, or AQAP) published the second issue in its "Shuhada Al-Jazira" ("Martyrs of the Arabian Peninsula") series. The issue featured Hani Abdo Muslih Shaalan (or "Shulan"), aka Salman Al-San'ani, a former Guantanamo detainee who was transferred to Yemeni custody in 2007, and was killed by Yemeni security forces on December 17, 2009.
